Dear all

Church Parade – Sunday, 3rd March 2013

The Group will be parading, as usual, at the Family Service to be held on Sunday, 3rd March 2013 at St. Andrews’ Church, Weald Drive, Furnace Green and I would like to invite you and your family to join us.

This service is designed to appeal to all ages and it would be lovely to see the whole family come along. You will be made very welcome and there is a cup of coffee and an opportunity to chat afterwards! I can promise you a very lively and enjoyable time and I look forward to welcoming you to the Service.

Although the Service starts at 10.30am and lasts approximately 1 hour, I would be grateful if you could be present and meet me in the lounge of the Church building at 10.15am. This will allow us sufficient time to assemble and get the colour parties established. Full uniform please.

I look forward to seeing you there.

St. George’s Day Parade – Sunday, 21st April 2013 – Preliminary information

This is the one date in our Group calendar when we look for 100% turnout from all of our members because not only is St. George the Patron Saint of England he is also the Patron Saint of Scouting.

We shall be meeting up at our Scout HQ at approximately 1.30pm and walking/ parading to the memorial gardens for 2.30pm (If you/ your child do not feel able to commit to the walk, which would be a great shame, then please meet us at the gardens at this time). The service, which is being led by the Vicar of Furnace Green – Richard Poole, will commence in Queens square at 3pm and will conclude at 3.45pm when your child can be colected from the memorial gardens.

Donations of Dog Food (for local animal charities) and cash (for the Mayor’s charity – Crawley District Scouts) would be gratefully received.

Mayorathon – Saturday, 4th May 2013

Please see my email and attachment of 18th February last.

This event promises to be a great day out with lots of fun. I would also be grateful for volunteers from the Executive , Leader Team and parents to help man the two activities that we have signed up for on the day. I hope to set up a rota of two hour slots depending on the degree of support I get. When letting me know your availability could you indicate if you have a preferred time scale i.e. early morning/ late morning/ early afternoon/ late afternoon. Thank you in anticipation of your support.

Queens Jubilee Badges

Kindly be advised that the Queens Jubilee badges should now be removed from an individuals uniform – thank you

Regards

Paul
