Old Mobile Phones

At a recent Group Scout Leader’s meeting we discussed and agreed that Groups would support the collection of mobile phones in support of the Mayors Charity in 2012/13 (Crawley Scouting) as one of the initiatives. The scheme is operated by a local company who collect phones and issue money for every phone collected back to a nominated charity. They then refurbish them and pass them on to 3rd World Countries.

 

This is the perfect time to collect phones as many will have been given as Christmas presents and the old ones probably sitting at the back of a drawer. The proceeds from the Mayor’s Charity when the period comes to an end is for further development at Stanford. If any parents are able to extend this collection in to their places of work this will be most helpful.

 

Please bring along any of your unwanted mobiles to a Section meeting and I can then arrange for them to be forwarded either to the District Commissioner or to the Town Hall.
