160412 Cubs
Tonight, our first Pack meeting after the Easter holidays, the cubs started to work towards the International Activity badge. Akela had previously chosen that we would learn all about Mexico. “Mexico?” I hear you ask, “Why Mexico?”. Well it didn’t take long for us to realise the particular reason for choosing this particular country – see below for a full explanation!
Because it was a Mexican themed evening the Pack started off by making and then having a go with the “ball and cup” game. Many of the cubs managed to catch the ball in the cup – some did it without the ball being impeded by the string; however, perhaps they missed the point of the game?!
Then we took part in a quiz and, as a result learnt a great deal about Mexico, its traditions and culture. The quiz, because we are 7th Crawley, had a slight twist and this is when we realised why Akela had chosen Mexico. The quiz was called “Pinata Mayhem”! GREAT FUN!
The evening wasn’t a total success however. Akela has received a letter from the RSPCP – The Royal Society for the Protection from cruelty of Pinata’s – He has been prohibited from keeping or breeding pinata’s for a minimum of 5 years – Poor Akela!
Apologies to the Parents for the slightly later than usual finish tonight. Blame the Pinata’s …………….. or at least blame the Cubs for not finishing the Pinata’s quickly enough. Final score: Cubs 1 – Pinata’s 0 – although I have to say that the result did not, in any way, reflect the standard of the game (isn’t that always the way!)
