Group Executive

 

The Group Executive (GE) is a body of uniformed and non-uniformed members of the Group who are all volunteers and act as Trustees under the Charities Act.  We are specifically charged with ensuring that the Group functions properly and effectively and keeps within the rules, regulations and requirements as laid down by both the Scout Association and the Charities Commission.

 

The Executive is led by the Group Chairperson, Group Treasurer and Group Secretary, none of whom are allowed to hold a warranted leadership position within the Group. The Group Scout Leader (or Scouter-in-Charge), together with his Section Leaders from the Beaver Colony, Cub Pack and Scout Troop represent the uniformed members of this Group.

 

Parents are invited to join the Executive to represent each Section as well.  We are fortunate to have a parent member for each of our three Sections.

 

Apart from the AGM (held in June) the GE meets approximately three times a year (more frequently if an urgent need arises).  All meetings take place at the Scout HQ at Waterlea and last approximately 1 1/2 – 2 hours.
