141104 Cubs

Tonight our Cubs were learning about the stars and planets for the Astronomy Activity Badge. My thanks to Trevor B for giving up his evening to show the cubs the wonders of the night sky albeit that we were plagued by cloud towards the end of the meeting. Still, I taught the cubs how to blow really hard at the cloud to make it move on – it made me laugh anyway! lol

 

We played a number of games during the evening all with an Astronomy theme including “planets” (a version of “snowballs” – an all time favourite), “Planet chasing” (based on “Cat and Mouse”) and “Match the constellations” using the English and latin names for a number of constellations that the cubs had to match up.

 

 

A really good and interesting night in all.
