140708 Cubs

In preparation for our forthcoming weekend camp on 11th/ 13th July and to complete a part of the Outdoor Challenge Badge, the cubs practised putting up tents this evening.

 

Due to the inclement weather, it was decided to undertake this task within the four walls of the Group HQ.

 

It was quite interesting putting up a patrol tent inside a building especially when using cubs as the tent pegs – I was most put out however, when some of the cubs refused to allow me to use a mallet on them when they failed to hold the tent tightly enough!! 

 

(Editor’s note – No children were hurt in the participation of this pack meeting and Akela has been reminded of his safeguarding responsibilities by the Group Scout Leader!)
